Floor Mounted Jib Designs

The floor mounted jib crane is mounted and installed in different ways. These include:

• Base Plate Mounted: This type of design uses a hexagonal base plate which is bolstered by six knee braces that are equally spaced on the edge of the mast to help hold it in place. The mast is then reinforced using gussets.
• Foundation Mounted: This floor mounted jib crane design makes use of a square steel plate that is joined to the bottom of the column. The plate helps to position and level the mast by fastening it to a first-pour concrete footing. A second-pour foundation of reinforced concrete is then used to strengthen the mast. This eliminates the need for gussets.
• Sleeve Insert Mounted: This design uses a square steel plate which is joined to the bottom of the sleeve. The plate puts the sleeve in place and levels it by fastening the sleeve to a first-pour concrete footing. A second-pour foundation of reinforced concrete is then used to support the sleeve. Once that’s done, the mast is placed and leveled into the sleeve by wedges, after which it is welded in place. This makes it possible to relocate the jib system when necessary without destroying the mast.
